Alyson is a public relations and communications professional with more than 20 years of experience working on all sides of the media industry. Before joining Bluesky in 2019, she was part of the CTV National parliamentary news team and the senior producer for Power Play with Don Martin. As a journalist, she had a front-row seat to many local, national, and international stories. Alyson also helped shape those stories for the viewers and established ongoing relationships with many of this country’s politicians, their staff and the top political minds. It is through these experiences that she has developed a strong sense of how and why media works.
As a member of the Bluesky team, Alyson manages a broad range of communications issues for our clients in many fields and uses her networks and experience to secure opportunities with major outlets across the country and around the globe. She is also responsible for media training and producing communication products distributed directly to clients and through Bluesky’s social media accounts.
In addition to her career achievements, Alyson loves providing her time to various causes within Ottawa which has allowed her to expand her management and planning skills. She is currently a Director with World Press Freedom Canada.
Alyson earned a bachelor’s degree (Honours) from Carleton University, is a graduate of Algonquin College’s Broadcast Television program and is currently enrolled in the public relations graduate program at the University of Victoria.
