Emily comes to Bluesky after three years at Global Affairs Canada where she held several roles, most recently the role of Senior Policy Officer responsible for nuclear security. Prior to joining the public service, Emily was a Member’s Assistant in the office of Glen Motz, where she worked on legislation going through the Public Safety and National Security committees and handled public relations and outreach for the office. She also had the opportunity to spend her summers working in the constituency office
Being interested in international security, Emily spent a summer interning with the Organization of American States in Washington D.C where she worked on counter-terrorism efforts in the Western Hemisphere.
Originally from southern Alberta, Emily moved to the Nation’s Capital to pursue a Bachelor of Political Science from the University of Ottawa. She then went on to do a Masters in Infrastructure Protection and International Security at Carleton University and has remained in the city to be close to the political action.
