Ian Skipworth is a consultant and strategist with deep experience in the defence and security sector, advising clients across industries on some of Canada’s most complex and high-stakes issues. He has supported major defence procurement projects, guided clients through sensitive national-security considerations, and worked extensively at the intersection of policy, operations and government decision-making.
Before joining Bluesky, Ian spent four years at a boutique public affairs and government relations firm, where he played a leading role on several of their most demanding defence and security files. He previously served in the office of a Member of Parliament, spearheading policy research on public safety, food security and conservation.
Ian is also an accomplished political campaigner, having worked on federal and provincial campaigns, as well as multiple leadership races. Most recently, he helped manage the campaign of a cabinet minister during the 2025 federal election.
A native of Toronto, Ian holds a bachelor’s degree in Canadian history from McGill University, and is a dedicated, if often disappointed, Blue Jays, Raptors, and Leafs fan.
