Louise Mercier is a distinguished volunteer leader in Canada’s defence and veterans’ communities. She has served as National President and VP Maritime Affairs of the Navy League of Canada and founded Women in Defence and Security (WiDS). She chaired CADSI’s Navy Outlooks for over a decade as well as the Conference of Defence Association Institute, and currently serves on several boards including the Navy League of Canada, Perley Rideau Veterans Health Centre Foundation, The Quebec Division of the Commissionaires, St. John Ambulance, and the Legion Foundation. Her exceptional service has been recognized with multiple national honours, including the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, the Admiral’s Commendation, and the King Charles Coronation Medal. In April of 2025 she was inducted into the Order of St. John.
