Matt Garrow

Matt is a senior advisor with more than 20 years of experience working at the intersection of Indigenous engagement, major projects, economic development, and public policy. He has held senior leadership roles within both the Government of Canada and the Government of Ontario, where he advanced policies and initiatives related to Indigenous economic participation, infrastructure development, and examining effective use of the Duty to Consult. His work has involved extensive collaboration with Indigenous leadership, governments, and industry proponents to support practical approaches to economic reconciliation, including theĀ United Nations Declaration on the Rights on Indigenous Peoples Act Action Plan.

Matt is recognized for his strategic, relationship-based approach to complex regulatory and infrastructure files, helping organizations navigate government processes, strengthen Indigenous partnerships, and advance projects in alignment with Indigenous rights and long-term community priorities.

Matt also values his time spent in his home communities of Sagamok Anishnawbek and Akwesasne.
