Tennis Canada

Tennis in Canada was soaring to new heights with international on-court success and grassroots growth of the game and then COVID-19 struck. Bluesky Strategy Group helped Tennis Canada pivot in the face of the global pandemic by designing and implementing a federal government relations strategy that enabled the national sport organization to secure federal assistance for key international events and grow the next generation of players.

What We Delivered

With the onset of COVID-19 bringing an end to in-person events in early 2020, Tennis Canada turned to Bluesky Strategy Group to help it raise funds to enable it survive and continue its leading role in promoting the growth of a popular Canadian sport.

Bluesky worked with Tennis Canada on a federal government relations and media outreach campaign to seek additional funding to help support their major events, including the National Bank Open sponsored by Rogers, and sustain tennis development and participation across Canada. The advocacy efforts served to help guide the federal government to both include sports and major events in Canada’s post-pandemic recovery plan and to develop a unique, new federal funding model to support major events.
