Lieutenant-General (Ret’d) Michael Hood, CMM, CD, joins as Senior Associate
Ottawa, ON – Bluesky Strategy Group (Bluesky), a full-service public affairs firm marking 20 years in business in 2023, is pleased to announce that Lieutenant-General (Ret’d) Michael Hood, CMM, CD, former commander of the Royal Canadian Air Force, has joined the Bluesky team as Senior Associate. A proven leader with more than 33 years of experience in the RCAF, Michael brings his national and international security experience to Bluesky’s clients.
“Mike will provide Bluesky’s clients with a wealth of experience and unique insights into the aerospace and defence sector, security, procurement, government decision-making and major projects,” said Tim Barber.

Michael held senior executive positions in acquisition, strategic planning, international security policy, and national security – where he helped shape the Government of Canada’s response to numerous global security crises. As an executive in the resource sector, he provided advice to clients in several areas, including complex innovative and disruptive technologies, cybersecurity, operational resilience and related technological matters, and safety and security. He is also the founder of the RCAF Foundation and serves on several not-for-profit boards providing governance and leadership advice.
